Every year I do a Christmas reading post, and this year is no exception. However, I’ve decided to change the format. Previously I’ve looked at bargain Christmas reads and done several updates in the run up to Christmas. As you can imagine, this is pretty time consuming and also excludes those titles that might be a tad more expensive. So instead I’ve decided to feature all the Christmas titles that have been released in 2019 (in either ebook or paperback). Now when I say ‘all’ I essentially mean all of the ones that I might be tempted to read, and, that I’ve spotted by trawling social media, Amazon and The Bookseller. Even so there’ll be some I’ve missed but I’ve no doubt you’ll still have plenty to keep you occupied. This format also means that going forward if I do an annual round up you can go back over previous years and have an extensive Christmas reading list. As it is you can catch up on previous lists here.

So despite the spark between them, and the fact that he can whip up a fabulous dinner faster than she can say Michelin star, romance and Christmas are off the menu this year.
Unfortunately, Aunt Dolly hasn’t quite got the message, going to great lengths to provide a proper British Christmas for her beloved niece: a true home away from home. A Typical Family Christmas by Liz Davies
For once, Kate Peters would like a happy, family Christmas; the kind of Christmas seen on the TV. She wants harmony and happiness, smiling, glowing faces, tables groaning with food, carol singing around the tree. She wants love, kindness, and goodwill to all men, especially in her own house.
What she doesn’t want is drama. Absolutely no drama, whatsoever.
But what she gets is three stroppy children, two equally stroppy grandmothers, a husband who can’t manage to change a lightbulb, and Pepe the poodle. It’s no wonder she feels unappreciated, overworked, and ignored.
At the end f her tinsel-coated tether, and with the only Christmas spirit being in the form of a bottle of raspberry gin, Kate decides to leave them to it and see how they manage without her. A quiet little hotel somewhere near the sea, where she can pretend Christmas doesn’t exist, is just the thing she needs. Isn’t it?

Because I have a large number of review commitments, I’ve only time to read one Christmas title this year and it is “Christmas at the edge of the world” by Kate Hewitt.
You’ve got an alarming large collection of festive books here Jill. Happy reading!

An alarming collection that thankfully I produce mainly for other readers. While I’d happily read anything on the list I don’t have the time or more importantly the budget! Very tempted by several though, they might make the book haul.

Haha, do you think publishers know they’re on to something if they include the word Christmas in a title at this time of year!

They do indeed and I know I don’t want to type the C word again for a while 😂😂

oh my goodness, what a list, Jill! that must have taken quite a while and i scoured each of them for something other than a Hallmark romance dripping with Christmas sweetness. Yes, I found several to check out and appreciate your heads up. All these books about finding love at Christmas makes me very glad I found DH at 17, married him, and after all these years would have no one else. Now that’s a Christmas blessing!

I’m glad you found something, I must admit I can cope with a bit more saccharin in a Christmas book than I normally would but I don’t like to overdose. Glad to hear you found your soul mate early on – it avoids all the angst! I found mine coincidentally at a Christmas party 39 years ago! It seems we’ve both been blessed x
