Today I’m delighted to feature Wall Street Journal bestselling author Christopher Greyson. Christopher is the author of, among others, the acclaimed Detective Jack Stratton Series which has so far been read by over a million readers. The series has a broad appeal, due to it’s blend of mystery, thrills with a little romance thrown in. His latest novel is the standalone suspense thriller One Little Lie.
Over to Christopher:
My name is Christopher Greyson, and I am a storyteller. Since I was a little boy, I have dreamt of what mystery was around the next corner, or what quest lay over the hill. If I couldn’t find an adventure, one usually found me, and now I weave those tales into my stories. I am blessed to have written the bestselling Detective Jack Stratton Mystery-Thriller Series.
My background is an eclectic mix of degrees in theatre, communications, and computer science. Currently I reside in Tennessee with my lovely wife and two fantastic children. My wife, Katherine Greyson, who is my chief content editor, is an author of her own romance series, Everyone Keeps Secrets.
My love for tales of mystery and adventure began with my grandfather, a decorated World War I hero. I will never forget being introduced to his friend, a WWI pilot who flew across the skies at the same time as the feared, legendary Red Baron. My love of reading and storytelling eventually led me to write Pure of Heart, a young adult fantasy that I released in 2014
Which five pieces of music/songs would you include in the soundtrack to your life and why?
God’s Gonna Cut You Down by Johnny Cash. It keeps me accountable.
Follow That Dream by Elvis. Almost everyone in life says this, few do.
I’m a Believer by The Monkees. I used to sing this in the car with my daughter and it also makes me think of my wife.
Chicken Race by Lazy Guns Brisky. A fast-tempo song that makes me feel like driving with the windows down.
Rockin’ Robin by Bobby Day. It puts a spring in my step and I dance to it.
What five things (apart from family and friends) would you find it hard to live without.
Computer (I write on it.)
Phone (I write on it.)
Ipad (I write on it.)
Give five pieces of advice to your younger self?
Be careful little eyes what you see.
Be careful little ears what you hear.
Be careful little tongue what you say.
Be careful little feet where you go.
Be careful little mind what you think.
Be careful little heart who you love. (I know it’s six but I don’t follow rules well.)
Tell us five things that most people don’t know about you
I fed a Siberian tiger by hand.
I was an extra on Spencer for Hire
I watched the original Godzilla with the man who played Godzilla
I hold the record of breaking boards in my brother’s martial arts school—7 with 2 fingers.
I ran in the 100th Boston Marathon. (Just for fifty yards while my mother-in-law jogged by)
Tell us five things you’d still like to do or achieve.
Grow old with my wife.
Walk my daughter down the aisle.
Travel to Japan.
Travel to an exotic island.
Fly a plane.
Many thanks for joining me today Christopher. Some new music choices for me, and a lovely trip down memory lane with the Monkees – I was in love with Davy Jones (even though I was only 8), I guess from answer to question 2 you’d also find it pretty hard to live without writing, I’ll let you off with your 6th answer, it’s a very important one piece if advice, even though I suspect it’s still one that we all learn from experience. Well, I doubt many people can claim to have watched Godzilla with Godzilla’, that’s definitely a dinner table story. I really hope you get to achieve your dreams, though no doubt, the first two on your list, will mean the most. But when travel is back on the menu I’m sure Japan would be fantastic.

Jack and the Giant Killer
A serial killer is stalking Jack’s town–and no one’s safe. But they don’t know Jack.
Jack looked up at the giant, dead body brazenly hung on the quaint Welcome to Darrington sign. He turned to the town’s mayor. “Mayor Lewis, when you said people had nothing to fear, it pricked the killer’s vanity. He’s using this latest victim to send you a message: Be afraid. Be very afraid—of him. If you want to catch this serial killer, you need to feed his ego. Tell the people he’s right. They should be scared—no one’s safe while he controls the town.”
Rogue hero Jack Stratton is back in another action-packed, thrilling adventure. While recovering from a gunshot wound and the loss of his job on the police force, Jack’s romance with feisty Alice (aka Replacement) continues to develop. When Alice gets a seemingly harmless private investigation job—locate the owner of a lost dog—Jack grudgingly assists. Little do they know it will place them both in the crosshairs of a merciless serial killer.
Can Jack and Alice stop a pack of ruthless criminals before they can Data Jack?
Jack Stratton’s back is up against the wall. He’s broke, kicked off the force, and his new bounty hunting business has slowed to a trickle. With no money coming in, Jack’s license to carry suspended, and no good job prospects on the horizon, Jack’s got it tough. He thinks things are turning around when Alice (aka Replacement) gets a lucrative job setting up a home data network. That is, until he discovers it’s for a handsome, jet-setting software tycoon. The “boy billionaire” as Jack grudgingly refers to him, takes a liking to computer-savvy Alice. Jealous, Jack thinks life can’t get any worse, but when the computer program the CEO invented becomes the key tool in an international data heist, things turn deadly. In this digital age of hackers, spyware, and cyber terrorism–data is more valuable than gold. The thieves plan to steal the keys to the digital kingdom and with this much money at stake, they’ll kill for it. Can Jack and Alice stop the pack of ruthless criminals before they can Data Jack?

A thief on the loose. A marriage proposal rejected. A dead body…
And Jack’s vacation is just getting started.
Jack Stratton is heading south for some fun in the sun. The dog holds Jack responsible and wants payback. On top of everything, Jack is still waiting for Alice’s answer to his marriage proposal.
When his mother and the members of her neighborhood book club ask him to catch the “Orange Blossom Cove Bandit,” a small-time thief who’s stealing garden gnomes and peace of mind from their quiet retirement community, how can Jack refuse?
The peculiar mystery proves to be more than it appears, and things take a deadly turn. Now, Jack finds it’s up to him to stop a crazed killer, save his parents, and win the hand of the girl he loves—but if he survives, will it be Jack who ends up with a broken heart?

Jack of Diamonds
‘Til death do us part…
All Jack Stratton wants to do is get married to the woman he loves—and make it through the wedding. It seems like he is finally getting his wish until he responds to a police distress call and discovers his old partner unconscious in an abandoned house. Investigators insist it was just an accident, but Jack fears there may be more to it. Sketches of women cover the walls, and among them is one sketch that makes Jack’s blood run cold—a sketch of Alice, pinned up beside an invitation to a very special wedding—his own.
Locking horns with law enforcement, Jack digs deeper. What did his old police partner see in the house? Who’s been creating these sketches? More importantly, what do they want with Jack’s bride-to-be?
When he identifies two of the women in the sketches, only to discover that they are both missing, Jack finds himself thrown into one of the deadliest cases he’s ever worked. Jack comes to a terrifying conclusion—there’s a serial killer on the loose… and Alice is his next target.
As their wedding day looms closer, Jack and Alice must work together to solve the murders and put an end to the killer. Will they catch the psychopath in time, or will their loved ones attend a funeral instead of a wedding?
Jack of Diamonds is a riveting thriller that takes murder mysteries to a whole other level. Filled with intrigue and suspense, this book delivers compelling twists and crafty schemes along with some laugh-out-loud wedding antics. As Jack and Alice fight a deadly killer, their long, happy future together seems like it’s just inches from slipping away.
This time, “till death do us part” might just be a bit too accurate.
